Job Overview:
We are seeking an organised and efficient Warehouse Operations Associate to manage the storage and distribution of goods in our grocery store’s warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, stocking, organising, and preparing merchandise for distribution to the store floor. You will ensure the smooth running of warehouse operations, maintain accurate inventory records, and follow all safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving & Unloading: Accept and unload incoming deliveries, ensuring products are checked for accuracy, quality, and condition.
- Inventory Management: Organise and manage inventory within the warehouse, ensuring proper storage, accurate stock levels, and timely restocking of products.
- Order Picking & Packing: Prepare and pack orders for store shelves or customer deliveries, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Stock Replenishment: Move products from the warehouse to the store floor as needed, maintaining product availability and rotation.
- Warehouse Organisation: Ensure the warehouse is clean, well-organised, and optimised for efficient storage and retrieval of products.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of heavy or fragile items and use of warehouse equipment.
- Inventory Tracking: Use inventory management systems to record stock levels, update stock movements, and manage product locations.
- Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and trolleys safely and efficiently.
- Reporting: Report any inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or safety hazards to management.
- Collaboration: Work with other store departments, such as purchasing and retail floor staff, to ensure timely and accurate stock replenishment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a warehouse or stockroom environment preferred.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely (up to [insert weight limit]).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift certification or experience with similar warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of stock rotation methods (e.g., FIFO).
- Experience in a retail or grocery warehouse environment.
