Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our grocery store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the store runs efficiently, maximising sales and profitability while maintaining excellent customer service standards. The Store Manager will lead a team, manage inventory, and ensure that the store meets all health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and ensuring that the store is well-presented and fully stocked.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise store staff, ensuring high performance and excellent customer service.
- Customer Service: Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing complaints, handling queries, and maintaining a welcoming shopping environment.
- Inventory Control: Manage stock levels, conduct regular stocktakes, and work with suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of products.
- Sales & Profitability: Monitor sales performance, implement promotional activities, and develop strategies to maximise revenue and reduce costs.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the store complies with all health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports, and ensure the store meets its financial targets.
- Budgeting & Cost Management: Control expenses by managing budgets, reducing waste, and optimising operational costs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in retail management, preferably in a grocery store or similar environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the retail industry.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a high-volume grocery or supermarket setting.
- Familiarity with stock control systems and retail software.
