Worldwide Foods first opened our doors to customers in Rochdale, 1985. Ever since then, we’ve expanded the business whilst staying true to our goal of providing our customers with high-quality products at low prices.
When Pervez Alam settled in the UK in the 1970’s he always wanted to pursue a business that not only provided for him and his family but also to serve a community that was still finding its feet. Born in Nairobi and having spent most of his developmental years in Pakistan, he understood the essential requirements ethnic communities looked for when settling in themselves. What started as outlets to provide halal food very soon became Worldwide Foods. The aim was simple: provide a wide range of fresh products at affordable prices and take special care of customers. With the help of his younger brothers, the business expanded rapidly to become a grocery chain that now covers some of the most diverse areas in the country – and is still growing!
